My bad. I was busy and forgot to start this earlier. Also forgot there was a game on tonight.
Seattle should switch back to the throwbacks.

I respect your commitment.. I don't mind self checkout for a few items, but that's just me.Went to the grocery store to pick up a couple of items in their last night on sale. Got everything and went to the registers. Found the place without a single human manning the registers, forcing everyone into the self-checkout. Returned a freezer item, then walked out, leaving the rest of the items in my cart in one of the register lines.
Just got back
I stayed away with real money, only took SEA +9.5 and Over 43.5

There should consistently be a 2/1 ratio favoring checkouts with cashiers. Self-checkout is good in that it lowers costs/prices on top of being quick for the customer with just an item or two, but nobody wants to wait all day. Walmart limited the amount of cashiers and checking out there feels like self-flagellation.If self-checkout was just a replacement for the "X items and less" register, I could at least accept the logic. But it's a replacement for every register, and stores who use it should all go bankrupt.

If you download the app, you can order your items for pick-up and have someone drop it in your trunk. That’s the only way to shop there now.My town has 2 Walmarts. One of them uses the self-checkout almost exclusively. I shop there for one item that is not carried at the other location, and if I have a prescription to pick up (you can check out a reasonable amount of items at the pharmacy if you're making a transaction there.
Other than that, I go their only for emergencies. The other location is a longer distance, but I get an actual human being at check out. So, while I don't like shopping at Walmart in the first place, at least the second one isn't actively telling me that I'm going to become in unpaid employee ever time I shop there.
