Patriots news

Welcome Capt!

This is Thornton’s time every year, looks great in early camp. It’s when football games happen that’s the problem.
With the way Reagor has looked, combined with his use on ST, I don’t see a path for Thornton making the roster.

Welcome to the board. I see you have already browsed the rules section, of which there aren’t much. You want to get staked for some betting?

Thanks, but I'm really not in the FFB/gambling world, even if it's for pretend money... My mind has enough fantasy inside it, knowing what the Pats roster should look like compared to what it does look like...

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him perform well during TC...in order to build-up his trade value...

Without a string of injuries I agree. I think Juju is gone for sure though... I would like it if Thornton turned out to finally be a good player, they definitely could use a speed WR who can catch, just think that's highly unlikely at this point.

He just doesn’t have the upper body strength to separate from jams. All that speed doesn’t matter if he’s getting bullied at the snap and can’t separate.

The New England Patriots currently have a full 90-man roster at this point in training camp, but that doesn't mean they aren't looking to improve.

On Monday, the team hosted five players for workouts, according to the transaction wire. The group consisted of five cornerbacks - Trajan Bandy, Delonte Hood, Taiwan Mullen, Colby Richardson and Quavian White.

Bandy, 25, signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2020 as an undrafted rookie out of Miami. He spent time with the Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals

Hood, 23, signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted rookie out of Peru State College. He's also spent time with the Denver Broncos and Arlington Renegades of the UFL.

Mullen, 24, signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted rookie out of Indiana last year. He also spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Richardson, 26, signed with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted rookie out of LSU last year. He spent time with the UFL's Houston Roughnecks this past season.

White, 24, signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted rookie out of Georgia State last year. He spent the 2023 season moving between the active roster and practice squad.

Contact has been his biggest issue, has his apparent bulk up helped? We’ll see, definitely not holding my breath

Actually seems legit:

Yeah, that was reported a few days ago. I think it’s in the official TC thread. He might be gone for the season. Massive blow. We will have to blitz the A and B-gaps to make up his loss, so we may get eaten alive by competent TE’s and slot WRs on hooks and crossers.

This whole "Jacklyn Brisket as QB1" arc is a complete waste of time. What are we doing here?

Drake Maye is the star of the show. Brisket is just an extra (whose parents decided to name him "Jacklyn" for some bizarre reason.)

Everyone with more than a single brain cell knows that Drake Maye is miles better in every facet of football. I couldn't care less what some pencil neck geeks in the media are saying based on a few meaningless days of training camp, especially when both QBs are putting up the same numbers, despite Jacklyn getting reps with significantly better protection. Maye is a gamer, and his skills will shine on Sundays.

If Brisket starts, I am not watching.

Maye was always going to be a project. No sense putting him in before he's ready and creating a situation where you're combining Josh Allen's and David Carr's first seasons. This is probably going to be a "Who looks like they'll be players in 3 years" kind of a season for most of the roster anyway. The team signaled that when they cheaped out on the Ridley signing attempt and didn't bother getting a legitimate LT.
