Super Bowl 58 Pregame Thread: 49ers versus Chiefs

We'd have to get constantly reminded over 42 tho
I think that I am one of the few that hates that loss, but feels that it was (overall) fairly honest. Yes, the helmet catch should have been called back for holding. But throughout the game the Giants were able to do "That one thing all Patriots players HATE and don't want you to know!"

They got consistent and effective pressure with just the front four. That has been Brady's one weakness that he improved upon but never really overcame. The Giants showed this in the season finale - and again a few weeks later.

Still sucks, though.

I think front 4 pressure is any QBs weakness lol

Rodgers would have to win 3 playoff games in a row. It's not happening at this point in his career.
They do eliminate the Chiefs though at least this version of the Chiefs.

As for this game - CMC, Deebo, and Kittle need to play perfect football. The 9ers D has to be in Patty's face and force him to go full backyard football - that's where mistakes can happen - and be prepared or the inevitable against the grain throw. The OC can't get cute and think Deebo = decoy. Do that and you're just taking him out of the game.

While both teams are under pressure - it is the Super Bowl - the majority of that pressure is on KC. Between the Swifty media, the crowning of the new GoaT (not even close yet), and the overall ball-washing of the Chiefs they have to produce. San Fran, however, is out to reclaim their glory - and not many are really giving them a chance.

Mobile QB's can deal with it better. Tom was amazing in that 3x3 pocket. His subtle moves were just so damn efficient. Plus, as he got older his release time got shorter - how many clips have we seen where D-linemen were just shaking their heads when what should have been a sack turned into a nice gain?

But consistently having to roll left or right? Probably his weakest point. A lot of QB's can deal with it better.

(guess I should have specified middle pressure)

The Forty Whiners need to take away Kelce first and foremost. The Ravens allowed him to take over the 1st half until they tightened up but that was the difference. Press him, don't let him get a free release, and always have underneath coverage shifted towards him. If Rice or MVS take over the game then so be it. Take away Kelce for once and let Mahomes have to play QB.

They also have to stop Pacheco and not let him get into the second level. Ultimately this game falls on Purdy.

Not as bad as the Iggles fan, but they're scum too.
Ironically I hate Gints fans more. That's a personal decision though. Majority of our glorious fan base hate the Cowgirls.

Wow some astute football talk from an Iggles fan? Who would've known...Great points but I would disagree with your last one. This game falls on Kyle Shanahan. If he doesn't get cute and runs the ball they'll be in good shape.

Yeah pressure up the middle was the Achilles heel for TB12. That's why interior line play was more crucial than the tackles for most of his career.

Packers for me. Favre-Rodgers-Love they've been so fucking lucky to have elite QB play for 30 years or so now

Yeah I would run CmC until he can't run anymore. Last game of the season for all the marbles there's no need to put him on the shelf for fear of injury.

I fucking hate the Packers too. I'm convinced Rodgers only plays good in the playoffs vs us and now that cuck Jordan Love.

I hope in my heart of hearts that Kyle fucks it up and decides to put in Purdy. I need the 49ers to stay suffering

Aaaaaand luckily for us since I'm assuming you're rooting against the Whiners too, Kyle won't and he'll get cute.
