The official mock draft thread.

Every year, the media ends up overrating the QB class. That's started early this year. We didn't even get to the "OMG! His combine!" stage before we started hearing things like "once in a decade class".

If the Pats sign a bridge QB that can actually throw and both QB's they like are taken, then the Kraft may go 1996 and take a WR at #3.

Not to discredit the article, and thank you very much for posting it, but I think it's a good time to remind people...

This is the lying season, and we've already heard that the Patriots are:

Looking to trade up
Looking to trade down
Interested in all 3 QBs
etc...

So it's now time to add "The Patriots don't like Maye" to the list, and I've probably missed the "The Patriots are out on..." articles/tweets about the other 2 QBs, as well.

Free agency can't get here soon enough.

That is a cool mock draft link, bookmarked it.

I just took MHJ and Nix in rounds 1 and 2...then traded our 3rd for two 4ths and a 2025 3rd from the Vikings.

Hmmm....

===============

As for the QB's...I am OK with either Maye or Daniels...I think Maye fits our team better...being that we play in an open air stadium in the Northeast...same with the Jets/Bills...and other contenders like Baltimore/K.C. Did yall read about some Chief/Colphin fans getting their limbs amputated after that cold playoff game at Arrowhead? Anyway, Maye is big bodied, big handed, and has a cannon for an arm...

But if we end up with Daniels...it could be Randall Cunningham 2.0....Cunningham was really good...with the Eagles and the Vikes....

without trading, using the mock draft simulators arent as exciting in 1st round at #3.. not a lot of variety there, but decent variety 2nd round and beyond

when we were at pick 15, there were all kinds of combinations that were playing out in the sims

You guys will probably hate me for this but of all the qb's I like J.J. McCarthy. Wouldn't mind seeing the Pats trade with Minny getting their two first rounders & drafting him or even Penix & then getting stud wr.

Mock draft on NFLN had the Pats trading down with the Giants to Pick #6 to select Nabers, Gmen get Maye.

I get the long game strategy if you're not sold on the top 3 or 4 QB's, but if that's the case you try to trade down into the 10-12 range and get the haul SF gave away for Lance. Then you grab the best OT with that pick, use all the ammo you have now to move back into the 1st and take the best WR available or maybe Penix.

for me i just want a sure thing at #3

thats a hard thing to guarantee with a QB, especially the 3rd QB taken

ill understand the gamble if they decide to go QB at #3, with a new regime that want their guy... but man o man if we miss.... will set us back for awhile

  1. The owner hasn't been a 3D chess player in a long time, if he ever has been in the realm of the NFL.
  2. The owner has publicly come out and stated his desire for a QB.
  3. The non-GM GM needs to do what the owner wants if he wants a new contract.
  4. The QBs won't be around in the second round.
  5. While anything is possible, it's best that you get ready for the team to take a flier on the #3 QB.

The top 3 guys, and even JJM are talented no doubt. If we were to NOT take one at #3 and that guy goes on to be good.. I mean, that can't happen. At the very least it's gonna be a hard sell after a boring, if not underwhelming free agency.

I would hope that the fans and media have learned from the 2021 draft, but it does seem as if that was a lesson that the vast majority has chosen to go unlearned,
