yea very unrealistic, he was ranked 10th with the player rankings i used and fell to 2nd round

makes me think we have no choice but to go QB at #3, or trade back between 5-10 to get a 2nd tier QB like McCarthy

or we just focus on strengthening other areas of need and try for a QB again next year... but we may never have a pick this high again

I have a late 2nd/early 3rd grade on him. I think whoever reaches for him that early will be looking for new work in 2 years or less.

Agree. He shouldn't be a Top 10 pick, just that he will be.

this is the dilemma that all teams without QBs find themselves in

Do you just go out all and target the QB you covet for better or worse? If so, we may have to move up to #2 or take whatever the top QB is available at #3 and hope it works out

Or do you ignore QB and go with a generational talent like MHJ? Probably the closest to a sure thing in a long time, but would still leave a giant hole at QB (and OT). So now MHJ is on our team with no QB throwing to him

How do you get a QB? Thru the Draft is basically the only way, none of the top QBs are ever available in FA and teams rarely trade them either... Its possible to get a QB in 2nd or 3rd round, but its really fucking hard so your best bet is with one of those top prospects... can only get a top prospect with a top pick

If they make the wrong decision, this franchise will be swirling around the toilet for years to come

I'm agreeing with you. The hype train is going top 5. We'll have to see if sanity wins out (and that's not a knock on the player, just the hype machine behind the player).

Look at the draft order and tell me who's taking him in the top 5. It's not happening. Giants at 6 just gave Jones money, and they need WR/OL/D. The next team that could possibly take him is Vikings at 11, and i do believe that's where he gets drafted.

If the Patriots are so sure that QB is the need, they need to be figuring out how to get 2 of the top 6-7 QBs, instead of putting all the eggs in one basket. For example:

• Draft Maye.
• Trade up, as needed, for Penix.

i did a mock on nfldraftfanatics i think it was and got offered Deshean Watson and was still able to pick at #3, so grabbed MHJ with Deshean watson and traded back into late 1st round to get OT
