I just watched the March 1st match up between the Celts/Mavs in TD Garden.... my impressions:
.) Mavs had a different line up before inserting Derick Jones Jr. in the line up for good (better D) after this game.
.) We basically let Doncic eat....but put Brown on him. Doncic had a big line of 30+ points...and 10+ assists....almost 10+ rebounds, IIRC...or he had a triple double. But Doncic needed 30+ shots to get his points. So, Brown was somewhat effective.
.) The Mavs are really good at corner threes....something the Celts give up a lot (we were lucky through the first 3 rounds...so many corner misses) on the weak side if we double or are caught in a bad switch and trying to recover.
.) I like our chances with Holiday/White splitting their work on Irving....and think we will throw Tatum/Brown/Holiday/White all on Doncic. We really can switch with any offense....especially when we put Tatum at center and go small with Brissett/Hauser.
.) I am kinda glad we are not facing the Timberwolves...Karl Anthony Towns and Gobert would be tough in the paint...and KAT was starting to heat up on his threes late in that series. But that being said...Gafford, Lively, Washington, and Kelber will be tough to handle....but I like our chances with Horford/Kornet/Tillman when we have to play the 2nd unit for a stretch....
