Sure, but Arthur Blank is the ultimate decider here. If he wants Belichick, he'll be there, whether McKay likes it or not - It's not as if McKay has covered himself in glory in Atlanta.

I mean, honestly, would you hire him without hesitation? Given his career HC record without Brady, his track record in the draft for the last decade or so, and given his age? I’d think twice about it.
I'd not have interest in a head coach who seemingly deliberately torpedoed his starting QB. But I'm not an NFL owner.

He's great in the talent evaluation along with his subordinates. I have no complaints over our drafts or talent acquisition. My main issue with him is that he talks too much and puts this unnecessary pressure on the team. He's also too loyal to a fault I would've gotten rid of Dakota and McCarthy after that Packers fiasco.
Belichick may not be interested in any other teams either. There is speculation he wanted to stay on the east coast. There was a report he told Dallas he wasn't interested.
Maybe Atlanta was HIS only choice.

To that point I really hope the Commanders keep doing Commanders things and pass on Belichick as well.
So, how many of us felt is what has happened. Teams don’t want to have to hire another coach in two years’ time because of his age. Then, you combine how he’s not used to only being the HC, and not the GM, with his recent job performance, and you have a situation where he may not actually get a job.
