Last neighborhood I lived in there was an older man who knew Tom Sr because he used to live in San Mateo, attending his Church, etc. He said Tom Sr is like a one in a million type of person, very humble, intelligent, always volunteers in the community, and that even before TB12 made it big, everyone knew Tom Sr as a really stand up person.
If so, then that's just another shitty decision to put on his recent failure pile.

also,i wanted to add that it is quite possible tb was confiding in his dad about tough times and that is why he said his dad talked too much, rather than what i thought was implied at the time which was his dad seeing how things were and just taking up for his son and tb thought bb would be pissed so he had to say something to mitigate that. after all tb's dad did say that things would end badly w/tb and the pats years before they ended badly.
