General chit chat and shit talk.

Just wondering if anyone has had a pinched nerve before. I've been having this pain in my elbow for about 6-7 weeks now. It's a little sore when I'm not moving it but if I reach for something or grip a glass, it's kind of painful. It also feels pretty weak. I think it's a pinched nerve but I'm not sure. Have any of you gone through this and if so, what did you do to make it better?

  • Hot tub/jet tub often
  • Massage
  • Arm in a sling when possible, held high enough to keep the pressure off of that nerve
  • Anti-inflammatories

i have a bit of that going on, but also have a story of someone who worked for me and retired because of a pinched nerve... if you want me to scare the fuck out of you (and me)
Please do.

I'm not 100% sure it's a pinched nerve but that sounds like good advice even if that's not the case.

Please do.

one guy who works for me now had a compressed nerve in his neck or something that was slowly fucking up his grip strength... he got a spinal fusion or something along those lines and that corrected it

had another guy working for me that went in for surgery for his carpal tunnel and for a compressed nerve in his arm (like on the side of the arm between bicep and tricep).. after the surgery, he had lost use of his hand for like a year or more and was only able to get it partially back (this is similar pain im getting in the same spot, but not sure if its same situation)

I have/had a herniated disc in my neck that caused a pain and numbness down my arm when it was inflamed. Got a cortisone shot for it and eventually with PT it subsided. It's still there and I have issues at times but it hasn't been to that level. I also get the sciatic/leg thing with a sore lower back at times, like now after moving and sleeping like shit.

Stretching and light PT would probably help you.

the article blames housing costs which is certainly a partial truth, but there are plenty of other reasons.

Boston news is as corrupt as any you'll find in the country, and the media here will protect the political left with their lives. And you're absolutely right about there being a whole host of reasons that people flee this place. But even within the realm of housing costs, it's not as simple as "Wow! Prices magically went through the roof here, for no apparent reason that can be tied to the corrupt leftist bastards in power."

Between zoning, kickbacks, allowing the state to be bloated by illegals who then drive more pressure into a tight housing market, etc..., even housing prices suck for needless and despicable reasons.

This is why I was shocked to see the article, even from the local Fox affiliate. But yeah they never mention the reasons WHY housing costs have skyrocketed, or the other reasons people are fleeing like high taxes, rising crime, illegals, traffic, and not to mention some of the very worst progressive politicians (commies) in the country.

The Fox network here is about 1% less corrupted by the left than the so-called MSM stations. You'd hope that journalists in a market as competitive as Boston/Massachusetts strive to be good enough to stand out, but that's not Boston's media. Here, the race is to see who can be the best establishment puppets. And Providence/Rhode Island isn't really any better.

Just came across a local auction for charity. There's a couple things I'm going to bid on like Amazon gift certificates and local restaurants certificates. But, the one thing I'm going to be bidding heavily on is a pair of tickets for a Patriots game. The winner will have their choice of 3 games. The seats are Section 108 Row 3!! That's pretty close! It also includes parking.
Opening bid is only $100.

I went to the VA today to have my elbow checked out. Yesterday morning I grabbed a gallon of milk out of my refrigerator and proceeded to drop it because it hurt to hold it in my right hand. So, I figured it was time to be seen.
My doctor knew exactly what was wrong when I explained it to her. Apparently I have "tennis elbow". I haven't played tennis in 50 years, but ok. I'm now wearing a sleeve on it that compresses the muscle so it's a little more steady. She said it should clear up in 2-3 weeks.
It was also suggested to me that I cut down on my computer usage as well for the next 3 weeks because it strains that muscle. So, I'm going to be posting very little over the next few weeks. I have to give my arm time to heal. But at least it's the offseason.

This is the sleeve I got. Please disregard the pipe and lighter! I just got done using them.

Good day for the home teams!!
Red Sox won 17-0
Bruins won 3-1
Celtics won 104-84
Umm ... this "team" the Sox beat - were they sponsored by Jakes Bait and Tackle?
