General chit chat and shit talk.

I have to say, this woman (who’s from a place very close to my hometown) has really taken her 15 mins and turned it into more by making the right moves. No matter how you feel about her you can’t say she hasn’t made the most out of what would have been for most only 15 mins of fame.
Haliey Welch (Hawk Tuah girl) got paid $30,000 for appearing at Daer Dayclub at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, according to TMZ.
But there’s one really neat way Welch is monetising her moment in the limelight, thanks to her agent Jonnie Foster of management company The Penthouse.
According to him, Welch made nearly $300,000 in the first month on merchandising since going viral.
But the clever way they did it was to trademark ‘hawk tuah’ as belonging to Welch, and then bring cease-and-desist actions against anyone else who had tried to trademark it.
The next step was to contact fake accounts and set licensing deals with them to sell official merchandise using the viral phrase - that means Welch gets a cut of every sale, meaning the profits keep coming, thanks to insatiable demand from the public to have ‘hawk tuah’ merch.
this is the part of capitalism that you have to accept in order to support it(that no talent "influencers" can make $ like this)

I just cracked 40K on my Tacoma, hopefully a while before I need to start sinking $$ into it for maintenance. I may upgrade the wheels when I need tires next time though.. and a lift/suspension.
Yeah, you’ll go a while before maintenance is needed. My Tundra just crossed 80k and this was the largest amount of maintenance I’ve had to do on it since I drove it off the lot. They are well built.

Proof that the consumer has the power, and if they collectively have the will to exercise it can make a huge impact on the market.

It is probably the goat of candy bars. I just can’t believe how everything gets bigger and bigger, more and more, when it comes to food portions in the US.
i can't have reeses in my house because they disappear. i was almost addicted to peanut butter m&ms years ago. haven't had one in years because i can't trust myself. i indulge my reeses jones by occasionally eating a pb cup sundae at a locale ice cream place, or another pb dessert at a restaurant.

Finally got my busted laptop out to repair under non-warranty. $58 to ship, i'm sure the same to return... plus likely new battery, possible new motherboard/network card. I probably should set a cutoff for repair cost for weather it's worth it or not. It's a 2 year old MSI gaming laptop that was just over $1700 new.

Those margins for the food manufacturers and, downstream, the pharmaceutical industrial complex aren’t going to move themselves. Get them fatter then shove pills down their fat throats.
