General chit chat and shit talk.

Well I didn't have a car when I lived there so I only drove through there once or twice in a car that I borrowed. being from Ohio, I never saw any kind of traffic circle like the ones out there. Along with the fact that my mother wouldn't let me get my license till I was 18 so I only had like one and a half years of driving experience when I lived out there. I was deathly afraid to try to get off of them. I had never seen 9 miles take so long to travel in my life.😄
I've driven extensively in three extremes ... Bosnia, where there are no rules, country roads with light-absorbing surfaces and lots of Road ninjas (drunks walking down the middle of the road wearing all black) ... England with roundabouts everywhere ... Japan with traffic lights everywhere, or convex mirrors so you can see the hidden traffic at a T-intersection, and a weird "aggressively defensive driving style".

I have to say I love roundabouts when everyone knows how to use them.

Any IPA fans around here? What's your favorite if you like IPAs

Yup I went on such a IPA/beer infatuation that I started home brewing in 2011 and by 2016 I was working in the industry, by 2019 I was brewing professionally. I love IPA.

For more traditional West coast style:

Pliny The Elder (if you can get it)
Sierra Nevada's - Torpedo for mass produced and available everywhere
Some other popular good ones are Firestone walker, Lagunitas, Stone, Elysian - space dust, Sip of Sunshine, Lunch – Maine Beer (if you are on the East Coast and can get it)

For the Hazy or New England IPA the best ones are usually going to be local, some stuff below you might be able to order and have shipped direct from the brewery. That said nationally available ones would be from, Toppling Goliath, Sierra Nevada, Sam Adams, Stone

Some of the best NE IPA's

Tree House Brewing
Trillium
Other half
Bissel Brothers
The Veil
The Alchemist
Monkish Brewing

My favorites are Pliny, and for Hazy IPA, Trillium and Tree House. I'm pretty sure Trillium ships direct to a bunch of states.

Aggressively defensive is the perfect term for Japanese drivers. They’re aggressively kind and swerve out of one driver’s way, out of courtesy, then into your lane.

How was the muff in Bosnia? I’ve heard EXCELLENT things.

Japan - In country, if you look at oncoming traffic as you make a left, and make eye contact with the driver coming at you, you're saying "I see you and I'll wait". If you just go peripheral vision and pull out, they'll slow up / stop. Oh, right turn on red (like a left for us) is "I remember when the light was green"

Bosnia - Wow! Dear Penthouse levels of wow.

sorry to read that. 🙁

So sorry for your loss

Thank you. She'd made some weird sounds while seemingly trying to cough up a fur ball early this afternoon, but that was the only kind of hint of a problem, and we didn't think anything of it, since coughing up fur balls was her life's work. Tonight, we were prepping supper in the kitchen, someone walked out to the living room and saw her lying in a place she wouldn't normally lie, and it went from there.

This day took a turn:

About 20 minutes ago, we found one of our family cats lying dead on the living room floor.
More of a dog guy, but all the same… sorry for your loss, man. Have a few drinks in his/her/they/them’s honor.

My buddy said The Alchemist was the best IPA he's had. He's from Rhode Island

That's the OG for the East Coast / NE IPA craze, his yeast strain is the one everyone tried to clone and use for their IPA's. Heady Topper is still one of my favorites fresh, though I might like Focal Banger a bit more.

By the way, I forgot to give my reviews for the new Captain America movie and the bouncing seats. I went last Saturday night and had just smoked some good weed and eaten a few edibles that kicked in during the movie. The seats were really comfortable leather recliners with 2 armrests that were your own, not shared with the person sitting next to you. We got there just as the movie was starting so I sat and reclined. I started feeling like someone behind was kicking the seat and I was ready to turn around and ask what the fuck they were doing? Then it dawned on me, it was the rumble seats.

It actually turned out to be a pretty decent movie IMO. I thought it was the best Marvel movie in a while, which isn't saying much. It was kind of politically based, much like Captain America Winter Soldier was. It had some decent action scenes in it and I think being in the rumble seats made me enjoy more.

I'd give the movie a 3 out of 5 star rating. It was entertaining for the most part.

I'd give the rumble seats a 4 out of 5 rating. It kept you awake and into the movie. I liked them, but they're fucking expensive. Regular tickets were $13.50 and the rumble seats tickets were $26.75 each.
