Great Moments in Pro Wrestling

I barely remember seeing the Mongols on TV, managed (after a swap) by a dapper Lou Albano, who at the same time also managed Ivan Koloff when he became champion... "Condition. condition!" they used to say...

The International tag championship was a strange case: it existed for barely 2-1/2 years, brought to the territory by Toru Tanaka & Mitsu Arakawa, who (with Tor Kamata) had just dropped the AWA straps to the Bruiser & Crusher a few months earlier after holding them for a full year... The Mongols held the International titles for a full year themselves before losing to Sammartino & Dominic DeNucci, only to win them back two weeks later... They then held them for 4 more months until they lost a unification match to then-current (& inaugural) WWWF champs Tarzan Tyler & Crazy Luke Graham at the end of 1971; and that was that.

One little anecdote about Albano: when our kids were Irish dancing, we attended a feis (competition) at Archbishop Stepinac high school in White Plains NY; and there in the corridor were plaques for various athletes, including one for actor Jon Voight (& one each for his two brothers) and another for... Lou Albano, who was the "Captain" of the football team his senior year.

Can't read some of the names...
Ivan Padullski vs ?
BuBu Brazil vs which Gilbert?
Baron Scicluna vs... Rocky Tomato?

And I can't believe that Special Delivery actuallydefeated a former AWA World Tag-Team Champion...
