NFL Breaking News Milton to Dallas

Relevant Breaking News
So basically if this current admin had been running the team back in 2000 they would have traded Tom Brady somewhere because he told kraft that he was the best decision the franchise ever made right after Drew Bledsoe got that enormous contract. Something really doesn't seem right about that.

Every backup wants to play and start. How a particular individual comports himself under those circumstances is the variable.

They were afraid of a 6th round pick who perhaps overvalued one scrimmage performance.

That's pathetic.

They traded him for a used colostomy bag. I smell fear. And old person shit.

A team trying to clean up a culture mess got rid of a guy who was/was thought to possibly be a culture problem. That's not fear. That's common sense.

Possibly? Thought to be possibly? That's sounds like fear.

I hope none of their draftees this year have the confidence to start right away. That could possibly be dangerous.

Correct. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit, and Joe Milton was the chicken shit. Thanks for helping me explain it to you.

Or giant pussies.

I find it amusing as fuck that people here think it's problematic that the Patriots got basically the same for him as they paid for him, after determining that they've got their franchise QB in Maye, as if it's the new regime's fault that said fans developed a wildly overinflated opinion of Milton based off of a game where the other team tanked.

Every player in the league should think of himself as a starter. You don't want your backup puking his pants when his number is called. The stretch from "intel" and "sources" saying Milton thought of himself as starter level, to... that's why he was traded is a fucking pretty huge one. Karen has no more clue than anyone else not named Vrabel/Wolf as to why he was traded. It's much more likely a combination of several factors that we've all discussed, namely that HE ASKED FOR A TRADE.

The reason Milton was a 6th rounder is because despite elite arm talent, ideal size, and plus athleticism at the position.. he couldn't hit the side of a fucking barn. He played in college forever and just wasn't very good. Now I have been very complimentary of him, his skills are undeniable, and he definitely took the coaching well last season.. I am on record saying I preferred not trading him, or at least waiting to increase his value. But lets not make him out to be Tom Brady FFS.

Right now he's Jamarcus Russel minus the purple drank.

If he works, studies, and dedicates himself to the game he can be a good starter. But QB is the one position that cannot be mastered by athletic talent alone.

Although, seeing as it was Dallas, I would have held out for a 4th.

I agree. But let's also not make himself to be a clubhouse culture cancer with a history of diva behavior that a team should fear. Like say, a Stefon Diggs.

If it wasn't clear in my post, I'm not buying that he was traded out of fear of being a bad locker room presence. That's Karen connecting dots that aren't there.. If a 3rd string player asks for a trade and you think you can get back value for him, you do it.

It was a gay trade. Keep him for the first couple of years of a rookie contract. If an injury happens and he plays out of his mind, you've hit the trading jackpot. If not, you unload him on two years.
