NFL GameDay Official Super Bowl LIX thread

GameDay Discussion
I only trust the Pats with Vrabel
All the other teams lack the balls

The Texans may well have won that game if it hadn't been them against the refs as well as them against the Chiefs.
The Bills would definitely have won that game if it hadn't been them against the refs as well as them against the Chiefs.

They still had chances to win it and failed
No balls

16 consecutive times now where teams have “had chances to win it and failed” against the Chiefs in close games.

It's a shame that Reid put Patrick out there when Nick Sirianni was getting a Gatorade bath. That was cringe even for me

Also Chiefs fans on X some that I agree with a lot of their takes, have been using the Brady got blownout in Wild Card narrative. I'm not going to go there this was a legacy game so now my GOAT has to get 8. No ways around it.

Collinsworth: “And Russell Wilson said to me, “you know, I want to win six. Six Super Bowls.”

I love rewatching shit like that. The media was ready to crown Manning as the GOAT in 2009. Actually. And then again in 2013. The pregame glazing of Manning and Mahomes followed by atrocious play / choking is just so poetic.

I honestly feel sorry for Matt Ryan though. I take no pleasure in watching that poor guy’s face as the lead evaporates. Other than receiving Brady’s stolen MVP from the media voters, he’s never done anything to annoy me.
Rodgers glazing was still the worst to me out of all of them

We're not talking about one call early in the first quarter. We're not talking about a spot on first or second down. We're talking about multiple times, throughout the game, on downs that determined possession. "They still could have won a game after the refs stopped them from winning the game multiple times" doesn't hold water as an argument when the "could have" is exactly what was being prevented.

But they really didn’t.

The 71 Dolphins lost in the Super Bowl. The 72 and 73 teams won championships.

The 74 and 75 Steelers won the Super Bowl. The 76 team lost in the AFCCG to Oakland.

The 88 and 89 Niners won the Super Bowl. The 1990 team made the NFC Championship and lost 15-13 to the Giants after Joe Montana suffered a major injury.

The 92 and 93 Cowboys won the Super Bowl. The 94 team lost to the 49ers in an epic juggernaut matchup, where it was essentially the Super Bowl. The 95 team won the Super Bowl.

The 96 Broncos dominated the regular season before being upset by the Jags in the Divisional Round. The 97 and 98 Broncos won the Super Bowl.

The 14, 16, and 18 Patriots won the Super Bowl. In 2013, they lost Gronkowski and lost in the AFCG to Denver’s record setting offense. In 2015, despite a plethora of players on IR, they lost in the AFCCG to Denver on a missed extra point. In 2017, they lost Edelman and lost in a shootout to the Eagles where Brady threw for over 500 yards.

So let’s stop with this embarrassing Chiefs-centric history bullshit. It’s disrespectful to other teams, acting like a 5-7 year run of dominance is so unprecedented. The Chiefs completely shit the bed and weren’t as close as some of these other teams, who lost in some excruciating ways against juggernauts and dealt with notable injuries.

That doesn’t even count pre Super Bowl teams. Luckman’s Bears, Graham’s Browns, Unitas’s Colts, and the team that did actually 3 peat: Starr’s Packers.

There have been a lot of incredible QBs and teams in NFL history. The recency bias is nauseating. Fuck the Chiefs stans. The Patriots had an unprecedented 19 year run of contention. The Chiefs at this point are simply the latest iteration of the premier franchise, which has been a mainstay in the league’s history. Really the only thing these tHe GoAt fuckwads have going for them is future projections, or in other words, absolutely nothing.

I loved that NFCCG between the Cowboys and Niners in 94. Down 21-0, Aikman just kept coming. They were literally killing the guy and he kept getting up and throwing bombs to Irvin. If Deion was not on that Niners team, Dallas does three peat.

Hahahahahahaahahahahahah!!!!!

Pat Mahomes Sr.’s shouting match with fellow ex-MLB pitcher John Rocker was one of the more confusing and unexpected beefs nobody expected.

A video shared online shows the former Major League Baseball pitchers getting into a heated exchange in New Orleans.

In the video, Rocker approaches Mahomes Sr. before the latter would suddenly swat his hand away. It only escalated from there.

It’s unclear what led to the exchange, which occurred outside a New Orleans bar. What is clear is that neither Pat Mahomes Sr. nor John Rocker threw any punches as the two former major leaguers eventually walked away.

Unfortunately, it appears they decided to take their beef with each other to social media. It started with Rocker commenting on the video after it was posted to Barstool Sports’ Twitter page:

That triggered the following response from Pat Sr.:

View: https://x.com/PMahomes/status/1889464508709535803?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1889464508709535803%7Ctwgr%5E9fd3447adbd8029d74923d42dd10ed90795481a6%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.totalprosports.com%2Fnfl%2Fpat-mahomes-sr-former-mlb-star-john-rocker-get-into-nasty-twitter-fight-after-nearly-throwing-punches-on-bourbon-street-during-super-bowl-week%2F

John Rocker came right back at Mahomes by questioning why he didn’t say those words to his face on the streets of NOLA:

And it finally concluded with a couple of parting shots from both men:

Pat Mahomes Sr. And John Rocker Might Be Working the Fans Due To An Upcoming Bout

Pat Mahomes Sr. and former MLB player John Rocker got into a confrontation on Bourbon Street during Super Bowl LIX week, and social media has been going crazy.

Mahomes Sr was in town to watch his son, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, play in Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Despite what it looks like, the two are working everybody on the rumors that they’re set to fight each other in an amateur boxing match

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy said in an interview that Rocker and Mahomes Sr. are expected to fight in a future Rough ‘N’ Rowdy boxing event.

“That’s a factual rumor,” Portnoy responded when asked by vlogger Adan Glyn if the two were pegged to compete at the boxing event. “I think it’s 100%, but I haven’t seen the signed paperwork yet.”

There was an interview with Scott pioli on "good morning football" this morning. he is the one who hired Nick sirianni in Kansas City.
