NAAAHHH he needs to sit. this team isnt going any where so just save him for next year

Probably would be the best thing for him, actually. But, since the plan is to develop Maye, having Bourne available to him when the time comes for him to start is a good thing, as long as the knee has recovered enough for him to be an upgrade at WR.

And let's face it.... If Bourne can do anything at all, it will probably be an upgrade at WR. Because.....

Bourne coming back from serious knee injury only to play with a QB who is not capable of getting the ball to any of the receivers on the team.💀

Do you know how much time Brisket spends in the ice tub nowadays? He's tough, but no way he holds up much longer.

I'm not so sure anymore. The guy is like that fat nerdy kid you would beat the shit out of in school but would continue to come up to you and try to be your friend. He just can't take the hint that he is not wanted and no amount of pain will keep him away.

Tyquan leading in YPC and a 50% first down rate! S.T.U.D.!

edit: My God ... I read it twice before it clicked ... Those are stats for FOUR full games. Not one ... FOUR!

It's amazing how poor much of the supporting play has been. Even Zolak, who's been agenda driven as a "start Maye week one" guy from the beginning, has been acknowledging the woeful play of the OL and WRs (and their lack of separation), and pointing out how negatively impactful Stevenson's fumbles have been.

Regardless of how putrid the QB play has been, at least the supporting cast is looking good, especially the receivers. The best analyst in the game broke down the All-22. AVP implemented a quicker passing game, yet the QB's average time to throw for the game was still 2.8 seconds. That's almost unheard of with the kind of offense they were running on Sunday and with receivers getting open. This guy flat out fucking sucks and is worse than Mac Jones, Bailey Zappe, and 2020 Cam Newton.

The other encouraging sign was that the Patriots receivers were getting open against the Niners secondary. The Patriots hit on some of those quick-game concepts, and pass-catchers Hunter Henry, Ja'Lynn Polk, and DeMario Douglas flashed some separation ability. Brissett took six sacks, and some of those were his own doing, but he also escaped on a few plays. For now, this is how this passing game needs to play to succeed, with Brissett's average time to throw being 2.79s vs. the 49ers.
This type of offense has a very low ceiling. You also see their issues on third down (5-16), where Brissett is asked to do more heavy lifting, and wonder if third-overall pick Drake Maye could elevate the offense in those situations. Brissett has some warts to his game, like being a beat slow to pull the trigger at times or gun-shy to test NFL-sized windows, which invites pressure behind a bad offensive line. On this film, there were also some questionable pre-snap reads and drifts/climbs into pressure.
Maye would elevate this unit, and many of the issues Brissett had on Sunday are concerns some have about playing Maye. If the veteran is going to make the same mistakes, we are running out of reasons to keep Maye on the bench, especially if Brissett keeps turning it over.

Lazar's the best analyst in the game?

Now THAT is good comedy.

With the state of our OL, not going to be long before he gets Mo Lewis'd, pollarded, etc.

Tyler Huntley will get his second straight start at quarterback for the Dolphins on Sunday against the Patriots.

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said today that Skylar Thompson is not yet 100 percent cleared from his rib injury and Huntley will get the nod in New England. Huntley got his first start as a Dolphin in Monday night’s loss to the Titans and did not play well, completing 14 of 22 passes for 96 yards.

“We’re planning on going with Tyler,” McDaniel said. “After reviewing the tape, there’s reasons for guys to be excited about that because while the output wasn’t nearly what we wanted offensively, there were some things to build upon that we’ll keep working through.”...

This is why I hate Brissett and why I hated the signing. Holds the ball, scans the field forever, scrambles around, throws 2 yard dump-off. Always running for his life. He had an awesome o line in Indianapolis and it made no difference. He’s just terrible.

He doesn't just hold on to the ball for too long, he also cannot read the defense, drifts into pressure, cannot throw with anticipation, and is now also making multiple turnover-worthy plays per game. All of this despite the receivers continuing to get open. I can't blame Polk and Pop for being frustrated and throwing tantrums on the field. Starting this bum at QB is a fireable offense at this point.
