I think he’d be a WR1 at best or a very high-end WR2 at worst.

Trying to shoehorn WR2 and WR3 talent in to a WR1 role helped ruin Mac Jones. We shouldn't accept a repeat of that with the next "well, he was the guy who was left" first round QB.

Ridley coming to New England only makes sense for Ridley if the money is significantly higher.

He doesn't want to come here. This will be a common refrain in the coming years - along with the Patriots adopting the Stephen Ross philosophy of 'leak to the press the team is in on every major free agent/trade possibility so our fans don't lose interest', which has happened already. The Chargers stuff was just laughably obvious. Did they call? Sure, I imagine 30 teams called. Was there ever a chance Khalil Mack, Joey Bosa, Keenan Allen or Mike Williams was ever coming here under any circumstances? No.
