$50M guaranteed. The Pats could have easily done that, or more. They must not like him that much.
I have a feeling if we signed him to a 3 year 60 million deal the sentiment here would be we overpaid. This is a massive overpay, too long. too much guaranteed cash, 23m/per for a 29 year old WR who's proven not to be a #1.

And mentally unstable.

I think we are going to have to overpay for the conceivable future to get top flight free agents to come here. Start with the ridiculous taxes and work your way back to either Jacoby Brissett or Bailey Zappe being our starting QB Week 1 (subject to change in the Draft).

We might get your boy Drake Bortles.

I don't disagree, but clearly (IMO) they are setting this up to draft a QB. I just hate that contract for Ridley, I'd rather do a 1 year, or 1 plus a void year for Mike Williams, or get a younger guy and pay him the big money (via trade).

There's no such thing as an overpay, when you're a 4-13 team with glaring needs, and 100 million in cap space to start FA.

That's retarded
No. Retarded is trying to spin re-signing your FAs from a 4-13 team, Jacoby Brissett, Antonio Gibson, 4th team in 4 years Austin Hooper, and assorted trash from the dumpster on both sides of the line as 'having a good offseason' or 'keeping your powder dry' or 'smart spending'. That's retarded. Unless you're Bob Kraft. Then it's good business.

The value of a player doesn't change because you sucked last year.

And yeah, when you have 30 or so UFA's you start by resigning your good/depth players and fill in some depth from outside. It's March 13th JFC

No. The value of a player is DETERMINED by how much you sucked last year.

The team went 4-13. You're re-signing players from the players responsible for 4-13. Do you really not see the issue with that?

So far we've re-signed the better players that helped this team not go 0-17. Especially defensive guys that were very solid, and not the reason we lost games.

They signed Uche, who was only slightly more useless than a used paper toilet towel last year.
