Patriots news

We'll see, he's betting on himself for 1 year. Clearly he wasn't great last year, he didn't play a ton, but he also didn't have Judon on the other side drawing the protection.
Win genetic lottery, train your whole life to be an NFL player. Turn down $11M over two years and instead take $3M for one, and risk injury ending it all. That’s crazy stuff.

He could have also bet on himself with the bigger contract, and my guess is there was a one year option with other teams. If I were him I wouldn’t take this risk with a team with the most cap space in league that gave me an insulting low ball offer.

What if the offer was from the Jets though

I thought it was implied the offer was from an NFL team

Mike WIlliams was just cut by the Chargers....

Anyone?

Yeah, but if he would take a discount...he's an upgraded DeVante Parker.....

We already have 30 coming of an ACL at home.

It's a shitty market for outside WR's. There are some good slot guys available but it's not a huge need, I guess one more wouldn't hurt for the right price. But I'd rather draft the outside WR, hopefully the X.

True, construct the contract purely on incentives for games played, active roster. That way when he gets hurt we don't have to pay him.

If/when Ridley goes back to the Jaguars, Williams becomes the best WR on the market, and the Patriots will be desperate. So I'd say that they need to at least take a long look at the idea.

Ridley resigned with the Jags?

Jimmy G as a place holder?

I think the ship has sailed with the terrible Brissett signing. Jimmy G would have been the much better option.

I wouldn't phrase it the way IIB did, but I think he's right with the basics. What would be interesting as an alternative, though, is if the team decided not to draft a QB at #3, took Harrison instead, signed JAG, got Ridley, and drafted an OT in round 2. In a case like that, you could pencil JAG in for, say, half the season before he gets injured, then go to Brissett, while the rest of our offense develops around them. Then you could look for the QB next season.

Ridley to Tits on a four year 92M deal....

Think that was too rich for my blood...

Jimmy is fucking terrible, and fragile as hell. That would be a horrible move to bring him in to mentor a rookie QB.
