Unfortunately, he became Bruce Banner at the worst possible time with the ankle injury and Neal leaving the game early on Super Bowl XLII. The Giants already matched up well with us when we were at full strength. I think they set a record for sacks in a game earlier that season against Philly (@Godzilla correct me if I’m wrong). Losing Neal left Kaczur on an island, and he got abused like a Sicilian housewife in 1968 Newark.

It's like Tom was in 2019 - the supporting cast is really bad. Aside from that, his throwing mechanics look worse though.
The Chargers were the real MVP for the Giants rolling Tom's ankle. I think a healthy Tom would've been just enough to beat the Giants that day.
The OL all played like they were coming off a hangover the night before.
Also, people don't remember the Giants were missing Jeremy Shockey. That could've made things more difficult as well.
