NFL Breaking News Vrabel to become Pats HC

Relevant Breaking News
Felger and Mazz.. the very bottom of the barrel lol..

They still have a fuck-ton of work to do improving the roster. Floor, i'd go 4-5 wins, median outcome 6-7, ceiling if they do well in FA and nail the draft, fringe playoff contender.

The nice thing about our division is that the Jets suck, and the Dolphins are not going to win anything with capri-pants-McDaniel and Tua, so I feel like if we can at least split with them there's a good shot at 2nd in the division.

I wish it had only been them. But it wasn't. Other shows, and at other networks, have already started with that same nonsense. We haven't even finished the current season, and they're already inflating win totals for the next one.

aaron glenn is a parcells and maybe bb guy. not surprised.
Played under Parcells for a time, a big chunk of his coaching was under Dennis Allen DC, Sean Peyton at the Saints. I think he'll be a good HC in the right situation.. I'd rather the Jets don't hire him. But then again, Saleh was a fine coach and they ran him out of town to save the GM.

I actually think he’d be a decent HC, too. His passion for the game and his guys bleeds through on the screen, but he’s has a hard ass’s pedigree. That’s a guy that could get hired regardless of the Rooney Rule.

That’s their business. It gets listeners even though it’s moronic because you need to see what the draft, FA, and FO changes yield.

But it sets people up to get fired. I find it despicable.
Oh, I agree. I despise the media. But they’re feeding the audience what they think the audience likes, and the ratings must confirm that. It’s like an algorithm on social media. You can complain about it, but it’s just giving you what you interact with.

I don't mind them going after things when it's valid. But creating a win narrative for next season when this season is still going is ridiculous.

It makes me think about how Christmas decorations are coming out earlier and earlier they used to be out around Thanksgiving which is cool because a lot of families start decorating their trees around Thanksgiving or a little bit after now the freaking stuff comes out before Halloween even gets here.

New England Patriots legendary running back James White believes former offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels should return to work under Mike Vrabel.

He stated his case on an episode of "The Money Down Podcast."

"I think he should, honestly. ...I know people like to say his offense may be outdated or whatnot, but I don’t think it is," said White. "The versatility that he brings to the table, like we could switch things up from week to week. I don’t know how many offenses do that.

"...One week we may run it 90 percent of the time, or one week we may throw it 90 percent of the time depending on what defense we’re going up against. ...I do think as far as Josh, him with Drake Maye—you saw what he did for Mac Jones' rookie season. I think he’ll help him understand the game even more. Slow things down for him and really take his game to that next level."

White played his entire career with McDaniels as his offensive coordinator. He excelled in the offense by winning three Super Bowl titles and cementing his place as a member of the New England Patriots All-Dynasty Team.

There would certainly be a level of familiarity with a McDaniels return to the sidelines. He would help in the development of Maye, who will be entering a pivotal second season.

The Patriots are not going to rush the coaching search process. However, it would be fair to say that McDaniels is at the top of their list of potential offensive candidates.

You can scratch Cleveland Browns assistant coach Tommy Rees off Mike Vrabel's long list of potential coordinator candidates for the New England Patriots.

Rees was considered one of the top options to serve as the offensive coordinator under Vrabel, who spent last season as a consultant with the Browns. There was a belief that he might potentially follow Vrabel to New England.

However, that option was taken off the table entirely on Tuesday after the Browns promoted Rees to offensive coordinator, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Browns coach Kevin Stefanski made sure to keep one of his bright young coaches from walking out of the door.

One could surmise that Rees no longer being available only strengthens the possibility of Josh McDaniels returning as the Patriots offensive coordinator. McDaniels is a legendary offensive play-caller with years of experience calling plays in some of the biggest games in NFL history.

Mac Jones was a Pro Bowler with McDaniels at his side. Imagine what Drake Maye could be with improved coaching, a better offensive line and more receiving weapons. Going back to McDaniels worked in the past for the Patriots.

It could work again.

Coach Mike Vrabel addressed the report that he told Las Vegas Raiders minority owner Tom Brady that he was taking the New England Patriots job.

That conversation reportedly led to the Raiders passing on interviewing Vrabel altogether. However, according to Vrabel, that might not have been specifically how things went.

"Well, I don’t know if that was the case,” Vrabel said, when appearing on "The Greg Hill Show." "Tom and I have had many discussions. We’re friends, we’re teammates. We've continued to talk throughout my career in coaching."

The Raiders are continuing their coaching search along with five other teams in the NFL.

Meanwhile, Vrabel returns to his roots in New England with an opportunity to rebuild and reestablish a winning culture within the organization.

We'll never know the extent of the back-channel conversations that reportedly occurred in the lead-up to Vrabel accepting the job with the Patriots. The only certainty we can take away is that the Patriots got their guy.
