Vikings just inked Justin Jefferson to a huge extension. Should make it easier for him to catch balls from JJ McCarthy.

If Bourne is healthy, big if I know, I would slot him into a rotation at #2 and slot. I think Osbourne is a fine role player, I agree with you there. Lots of questions for this group, and lots of young/unproven guys.If they could sign a thousand WR prospects to bring into camp, I'd be all for it. With Bourne still on the shelf, this team right now is, arguably:
WR1 - Ghost receiver
WR2 - Ghost receiver
WR3 - Osborne
WR4 - Douglas (too oft injured to be relied on as more, until he proves it)
WR5 - Everyone else fighting for a spot
WR6 - See WR5
Some might argue that I've got Osborne too low, and some might say I'm being too negative about the talent/injury ratio with Douglas, But I think I've got it pretty much where this team is right now.

We disagree on the Ridley non-signing and that's fine. I think WR will sort itself out as the season approaches. I'm more concerned with the OL. The young WR's aren't going to develop if the QB is on his back, whoever it is.The failure to sign Ridley is really glaring when you look at the offensive roster in pieces. This team is now, barring a trade or surprise cut-then-sign, hoping that it can find a WR1 and WR2 from among the trio of the two bigger name rookie WRs and a recovering Bourne. And that's not how you want to build an offense for either a very raw rookie QB or a career backup QB having to serve as a starter, especially given the current absence of a legitimate starting LT and .the expected overall state of the OL

Yeah that about sums it up. I think it'll end up being Polk/Baker, and if he has improved and miraculously makes the team Thornton. I'm saying this as the player who lines up at X, not becomes the defacto #1... Thornton obviously can't become that, maybe Polk/Baker can.Whether we're talking about Ridley, or another WR1 (or even WR2) not being brought in, it's still the same situation. This team is left hoping that a later round pick, a player who's been the WR3 more than the WR2, and a higher drafted WR who was not the team's choice (which is why the team attempted to trade up for another WR instead) somehow develop into the legitimate WR1 and WR2 that they are now missing.
