NFL Breaking News Vrabel to become Pats HC

Relevant Breaking News
Meh on the Vrabel hire as it's Bob moving on from Bill, but trying to find someone with ties to Bill....again.

Now McDaniels? This dude is not liked around the NFL and in his stints in Denver and LV. He's bad news.

If you take out Carroll because of his age, Vrabel was, without question, the best option among the veteran head coaches.

He's one of the best offensive coordinators in the NFL, and he has been since the 2000s.

He has not done a good job with HC, but has been good with OC. Not sure how much of that is the Brady effect or not though.

We've got morons who's argument is

"But I want something different!"

as if the last two seasons of Jones wasn't different, and as if last season wasn't different, and as if different doesn't frequently fail all over the NFL.
Aye I'm not a moron I'm just retarded

Just a few years ago he made a completely washed Cam Newton look almost competent, and did a great job with mac jones in his rookie year. He's a shitty HC. we know that, but his track record as OC and offensive assistant positions is undeniable.

Call me sentimental but I like having people connected to the banners still running -and hopefully revitalizing- the show.

Plus Vrabel is a dick but the kind that’s funny.

his stints as head coach were bad.... we're not asking him to be HC

he's been an outstanding offensive coordinator... hell, he had Mac Jones Fever going rampant in boston with the rookie year they put together

This is good for this offense, which has been near dead last in virtually every category for years now... He's a proven commodity

Ok, I can't believe that I'm going to say this, and it's something that I'll probably never have to say again:

I sure hope that Kirk Minihane is right.

Why?!?

They probably imagine the interview going like this.

Vrabes: What are your plans to innovate the offense, and what have you learned about today's offenses that can be implemented.

Josh: Absolutely nothing, I'm going to run the same offense from 15 years ago. I haven't learned anything and don't plan to change a thing.

Vrabes: You're hired.

Substitute Kraft for Vrabel, and you're a lot closer to the truth than you want to believe.

McDaniels is a bad HC, but we could have done much worse as an OC. Nobody is really running the E-P anymore and it’s tailor-made for Maye (assuming we can get the kid some actual weapons).

My boy has been in the oven too long. He’s overcooked. Outside of that, I know next to nothing about him.
He was with Vrabel for 5 years in Tennessee, he must know and trust him.

Sure. I get that. My question would center on philosophy. So for example, are his guys 2-gapping or 1-gapping up front? What’s his preferred base defense and is he flexible enough to adjust it around his personnel? How physical does he like his corners playing? Are they in press or off most of the time? Does he employ principles of man-match?

In any event, it’s hard to see him being much worse at adjustments than Covington was.
