@Ice_Ice_Brady
she killed us so bad last thurs i still was hurting today. everyone else i asked felt the same, people further along in strength than i am. we did a complex, so kept the heaviest azz weight we could through the whole circuit. today we did my fave 🙄, b.s.s. . also one leg on wall at right angle swinging heaviest possible weight up and overhead to side where leg was on wall. heavy swings, heavy one legged bridges, etc.
no overhead presses thank god. i am glad you said that. i've wondered if those are even helping me and my shoulders feel so wrecked all the time. maybe i'll do something else when she wants us to do those.

Yikes.

No offense but sounds like she’s clueless. I was at the gym the other day and there was a “personal trainer” there and I almost had to interrupt her session and embarrass her because she was so horrible. Zero clue about anything but acted like she was an expert. Her client wanted to tone up and grow/tighten her ass like 90% of women and she had her doing a full body circuit, says protein and calories don’t really matter and starts talking about Vitamin K causing weight gain

I have dudes asking me at the gym how I’m doing it because I’m getting some serious definition, but it’s very clear I don’t have a roider look. I just do iso exercises on the muscles I want to grow.

Also I don’t think cardio and body toning / hypertrophy should be combined for best results. Are you trying to build stamina? Do cardio. Are you trying to build muscle? Do weight lifting. Are you trying to lose/gain weight? 95% is nutrition and diet, not exercise.

Like many of the people there, I do three sets per exercises. Usually it’s 8-6-4 reps. Sometimes as much as 12-10-8. But it’s always in the 4-12 rep range. If you’re doing 30 reps, or doing exercises for minutes at a time, it’s the wrong weight or the wrong exercise. You’re just stressing your joints and tendons, not working your muscles. If you’re doing 1-2 reps, that might work but it’s very hard to make progress when you’re already maxed out.

You shouldn’t be working out to the point of feeling intense pain, and you shouldn’t feel any discomfort days later (unless you’re just starting.)

What are your body goals? I’ll send you the exercises to do. Or choose from. Everyone is different, but regardless, there are a handful of good exercises to choose from.

I can attest to this. Hospitalized, went from 275 to 205 (fluid retention, mostly), and radically changed my diet. Over the next year I got down to low 180's. I am in a very sedentary job, but still lost weight due to a good diet.

The next holiday season I figured "Why not - treat yourself!". Yup - you guessed it - back up to 210, and have to relearn the habits.

ty! i will pm you once i put my thoughts together.

I love some kinds of nuts. Peanuts, pistachios and cashews especially. But why do people, including professionals, recommend nuts as a good way to diet?

They’re fairly low protein:calories ratio.
They’re addictive.
They’re not that satiating.

A fairly good serving of a few handfuls of any of these nuts, or almonds, brazil nuts, walnuts, etc is about 540 calories. Only about 20-25 grams of protein. And I’m usually wanting more.

Pleasantly surprised at how good these are.

Pricey (website is $22.99 for 8 1.1 ounce bags - $2.61/ounce). Are they any good?
I just ordered 36 total bags on Amazon. Taco, Sweet Chili, Cheddar Sour Cream & Onion, Sour Cream & Onion, and Barbecue. They also have classic nacho cheese like Doritos and some other flavors.

I thought they were amazing, but I always have “protein base” expectations so I know they won’t taste just like the real thing.

The 140 calories, 19g protein is absurd though. Redditors are talking about them with overwhelmingly positive reviews.

They’re expensive, but I’m used to buying beef jerky for a high protein snack which is like $8 for a small bag. Protein shakes are relatively expensive too.

Quite the modern facility, huh?
i remember when Perkins restaurant,i think, had one of those coin operated vibrating belt machines in their lobby for exercise. quite the attraction after you'd stuffed yourself with food for an hour. 😄

I really hate the way juiced bodies look. Hate it. They’re all over the gym.

-Giant traps looks like an alien character from a movie, like wearing a bio backpack
-Shoulders disproportionately large and round
-Upper arms disproportionately large compared to brachialis and forearms
-Quads disproportionately large compared to calves
-Chest rounded and bubbly, like the fake boobs look on a woman

Why does anyone want this?

Oversized bubble butts are an obvious defect, and a crime against nature, but huge numbers of women today are doing everything they can to achieve the look. and large numbers of men have fallen into love with that unhealthy, disgusting look. In the end, no matter how you pretty it up with language, it really all comes down to humans being vain, narcissistic, and stupid.
