The children upstairs were/are a BIGGER problem here than MayoNays ever was.
D staff has to be gone, I think it's possible AVP stays.. No idea about the front office, my guess is it stays, but i hope there at least interviews for GM

Yep the D staph will indeed be gone if Vrabel is named HC; he'll bring-in his own, infinitely more competent people here with him.
It's the other side of the LOS that concerns me if, once again, Vrabel is named HC. At the Bare Minimum, we need new WRCs, new OLCs, and a new (or at least different) Play-Caller.

I just found a Herald article quoting a "source" saying Wolf is expected back, so there must be a line of thinking about that.
So they fired the incompetent coach who was stuck with a shitty roster by the incompetent grocery shopper, but they might keep the incompetent grocery shopper. Seems problematic.

I hope that "as of now" is a real indicator that Wolf might still be gone. They need to either have a GM search, or hire a coach who has his choice of GM in mind.

Interesting times…my thoughts:
1.) Why is Wolf safe? The Maye pick was a no brainer….everybody in this forum wanted Maye. The other picks? No bueno except for Milton maybe. Striking out in free agency with Ridley (although, he offered more money). Saying “we needed speed” after drafting Thornton. Saying the “OL would be fine” during the pre-season.
My guess is that Wolf and Co. have been putting together our draft board for 8 months now and the new HC will be using their scouting reports….maybe a new GM in May? Or maybe Kraft is seeing what the new HC wants…..
2.) Mayo’s tenure was troublesome in these ways:
- Awkward press conferences…like “Thunder Cat”, “We will burn cash”, “Rham is going to be benched”, “They are soft”, and etc… too chummy with the press.
- Some bad clock management and late game decisions. I even thought going for two when down 4 in week 9 was a fireable offense.
- Major drop off on defense. Yeah, we traded away two pass rushers…saw our tackling machine MLB go down….saw Dugger play hurt all year…..Barmore playing only 5-6 games…and Jon Jones lost a step or two…but there is no way that this defense should have been that bad.
3.) As for a defensive or an offensive minded coach….I don’t care. The guy needs to manage the game and have players ready to play. I want a coach that will make all games competitive even if we continue to fall short. No false starts, no holding calls, no turnovers, and solid ST play… have to stop beating ourselves first.
4.) Vrabel looks good to me, but we should be interviewing Flores. He is doing an amazing job in Minnesota right now and wasn’t bad as the Dolphins’ coach…..
