NFL Breaking News Jerod Mayo fired

It's really become an I.Q./insanity check. Anyone who's still defending the Rooney rule at this point is either being a fucking idiot or is a leftist lunatic.
Like affirmative action, it’s well past its expiration date. I think it’s actually a racist rule masked with anything from good intentions to virtue signaling.

I would say that, like affirmative action, the Rooney rule was always a terrible idea. The idea that the cure for racism is more racism should have been a non-starter for everyone, because it's beyond asinine. Instead, a bunch of people, most of whom were/are pushing harmful agendas, were successful in pulling the wool over the eyes of tens of millions of Americans, because Americans are intellectually lazy.

The NFL is full on DEI woke, just look at their recent rebranding of BLM, "it takes all of us", the hoodies that all the coaches and players were wearing with all the woke agendas/words on them... at the very top "EQUITY" which is literally communism broken down to it's simplest form.

people used to be very careful about NOT using the word equity, as to not sound like a communist

now people openly use it with no reservations whatsoever... pretty terrifying

You know it's a shit show when Jerod Mayo of all people tried to demote Steve Belichick who actually called plays.

How did Bob let this get so out of hand from the very beginning?

I'd love to know where all the fucking nepotism people are now that Mayo refused to hire a coach with more than twice the experience he himself has let alone the person he chose. meanwhile steve has called defensive plays. mayo put his buddy ahead of steve on the depth chart probably because of their races.
I heard Taylor Kyles put this way on his pod today with Kadlick, He opined that Mayo was a nepotism hire, rather than a DEI hire, which could certainly be argued... I'd say it was a bit of both. They also expand on just how little coaching experience Mayo had, how he went into media and business and was out of the NFL for a number of years, before returning to the Pats. Also, Kyles did a deep dive on Ben Johnson's roots to MA/NE both inside and outside of football and points out a bunch of ties to them both. It's a good listen/watch and only 35 minutes long.

Mayo was a complete clown.

Also, no one runs a smear campaign better than the Krafts.

Mayo is black, and was a group leader at band camp in Israel. You don't get in the way of that!

The New England Patriots’ coaching staff came out of its Week 14 bye feeling good. Sure, the team had suffered through a six-game losing streak and had a 3-10 record, but there was optimism that the final stretch of the season would go well. Rookie Drake Maye was fully entrenched as the starting quarterback, and his continued improvement, the coaches hoped, would lead to a strong finish.

They liked their plan entering that week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. But they lost 30-17 in an uncompetitive snoozefest. The team looked incompetent, even with an extra week to prepare. That was the start of a terrible stretch that led to head coach Jerod Mayo’s swift firing Sunday night...

Mayo said he sees color, after all

decided to ditch the white kid who was doing a great job calling plays for the team and had them as a top 10 unit, so he could give the job to his black brother from another mother who turned it into a bottom 5 defensive unit

i gotta change my name... used to be a huge fan of Mayo, now im disgusted by him
