Yep. Fill every hole you can in FA then draft the best players available at a position you're looking to upgrade that you didn't upgrade in FA. No excuses. This team should be a playoff team next year. Some numbers I gobbled together per "Over The Cap":
Free agents:
Jon Jones UFA (9.5M APY)
Deatrich Wise UFA (5.5M APY)
Austin Hooper UFA (3M APY)
Joey Slye UFA (1.3M APY)
Ben Brown ERFA
Alex Austin EFRA
Daniel Ekuale UFA
Demontrey Jacobs ERFA
Miles Battle ERFA

Holy shit....this team is gonna be LOADED by early May.....I'd love to be aggressive in FA ....then move all over the draft board to fill holes....
He won’t necessarily bring Smith with him. Ultimately, he’ll bring an OC who can tailor the offense around Maye.
The first year HC thing scares me. All this guy has done so far is coach the offense well. We have seen many of these hot shots fail quickly. For every Mcvay there are a 50 McDaniels. I'm not saying he won't be the next Vince Lombardi but I like the idea of a guy who has done it once before and had some success. Learned what works for him and what doesn't in terms of organizational structure etc.. and has vision for what it will take to be successful.New England is the most desirable landing spot for coaching candidates, according to reports. Makes sense: great QB, most cap space, high draft pick. Ben Johnson and Mike Vrabel are the top two coaching candidates, so it will come down to one of these two for us. Imagine how badly Ben Johnson is going to destroy Vrabel in the interview process. Johnson will outline how he will be able to help Maye reach his potential with his creativity and grasp of the game in the modern era, and will detail how he plans to infuse the offense with talent. He will tickle Robert in ways that he hasn't experienced since the last time he visited an Asian massage parlor. Mike Vrabel will offer mostly the same things the previous two guys did - a defensive minded head coach who has ties to the old Patriots era. It's boring. It's not exciting, and it has a low ceiling.
It's going to be an absolute massacre by BJ.

honestly im hoping for Ben Johnson
This is an offensive league now and would be nice to bring a fresh set of ideas and leadership into the organization. Vrabel has ties to Belichick, granted he branched off on his own and was a successful head coach, but he's defensive minded and we really need to maximize the development of Maye
Completely different era of football, and Brady was already well established during the second part of the dynasty. This is not aimed at you, but your post gives me the opportunity to note this...
Brady had a defensive coach
Manning won with a defensive coach
Roethlisberger won with a defensive coach
Wilson won with a defensive coach
Flacco won with a ST coach
The whole "got to have an offensive coach" thing is, to me, even less valid than the "got to have a mobile QB" nonsense.
Completely different era of football
He was already established by then, and in 2020 he won with an offensive head coach.Obviously not, given that Brady was still winning in 2019 and 2021
He was already established by then, and in 2020 he won with an offensive head coach.
Young QBs in today's game need offensive minded head coaches.
Let's not pretend like Ben Johnson isn't the perfect man for the job. It's so obvious. His hiring would move the needle.
Because it's true and relevant. Two decades in the league. He was basically the offensive coordinator at that point. Why are you trying to shade your argument with that "already established" horse shit? It's an asinine argument, even for the trollingest of trolls.
